Swish, a food delivery startup based in Bengaluru, has secured $38 million in a new funding round, continuing to attract strong investor interest in its 10-minute fresh food delivery model just 18 months after launch.

The Series B round was led by Hara Global and Bain Capital Ventures, with additional participation from Accel, Stride Ventures, and Alteria Capital. The investment values Swish at $139 million post-money, more than twice its valuation from a year ago, and brings the company’s total funding to $54 million.

The funding arrives at a time when ultra-fast food delivery has proven difficult to sustain in India. Major players like Swiggy, Zepto, and Zomato have recently scaled back or discontinued their rapid-delivery initiatives, pointing to operational challenges and rising costs as key factors.

Founded in 2024, Swish runs a full-stack operation, controlling its kitchens, supply chain, and delivery infrastructure. The company concentrates on tightly packed, hyperlocal zones with delivery radii of about one kilometre, which it says allows for stronger unit economics compared to marketplace-based competitors that depend on third-party restaurant commissions.

According to the company, Swish is now handling approximately 20,000 orders per day, a significant jump from around 5,000 orders just four months ago, as it expands across 10 micro-markets within Bengaluru. The startup has also prioritised automation in its kitchens to maintain speed and consistency, co-founder and CEO Aniket Shah said in an interview.

“We are very dense, very close to the customer, ensuring that we can almost act like a restaurant kitchen, bringing food to your table,” he explained.

Swish currently offers more than 200 items, including meals, snacks, and beverages. Its average order value ranges between ₹200 and ₹250 (roughly $2 to $3). The company notes that demand is largely driven by repeat usage, with frequent customers placing over 10 orders per month, particularly among urban consumers aged 20 to 35. Its service is designed to cover multiple daily eating occasions, from breakfast and tea-time to late-night cravings.

Shah added that some of the company’s older kitchen clusters have already reached profitability, though he did not share per-order margins.

Looking ahead, Swish plans to deepen its presence in Bengaluru while expanding into other major markets, including Delhi-NCR and Mumbai. However, its model remains highly dependent on dense urban environments and sustained high-order volumes, leaving open questions about long-term scalability, especially as larger competitors have stepped back from similar rapid-delivery strategies.
