Meta May Be Working on a New AI-Powered Pendant Device
Meta is reportedly developing an AI-powered pendant designed to support productivity, summarise conversations, and enable wearable AI experiences. The device could become part of Meta’s growing lineup of smart wearables and AI-driven products.
Meta is reportedly working on a new AI-powered pendant device that could enter testing within the next year, according to a memo reviewed by The Information.
The wearable is expected to build on technology from Limitless, an AI startup Meta acquired in late 2025. Limitless developed a pendant that users could wear around their neck or attach to clothing to record conversations and capture information throughout the day.
At the time of the acquisition, Meta said the deal would help accelerate its efforts to develop AI-powered wearable devices.
The reported project comes as major technology companies continue exploring AI hardware, despite previous wearable products struggling to gain widespread consumer adoption due to privacy concerns and questions about their usefulness.
According to the memo, Meta is also planning to expand its range of AI smart glasses and introduce a business-focused subscription service called Wearables for Work.
The company is hoping that a broader lineup of AI hardware products will help strengthen its wearable technology business and improve the performance of Reality Labs, its hardware division focused on emerging technologies.
Reality Labs reported a loss of approximately $4 billion in the first quarter, increasing pressure on Meta to turn its long-term hardware investments into successful products.
