India’s Ringg Raises $10 Million to Expand Voice AI Platform

Indian voice AI startup Ringg has raised $10 million from Peak XV Partners as it expands its technology beyond traditional phone calls into broader enterprise automation workflows.

The funding is an extension of Ringg’s Series A round, which previously raised $5.5 million. The company said the additional capital brings the total size of its Series A funding to $15.5 million.

Ringg is building AI-powered voice agents that handle business conversations, customer support and operational tasks. The company currently processes about 20 million call attempts each month as it looks to increase adoption of automated voice solutions.

Voice remains an important communication channel for consumers in India. A recent study by Truecaller found that many consumers prefer to communicate with businesses by phone, creating opportunities for companies developing automated voice systems.

Ringg Expands Beyond Basic Calling Automation

Ringg originally started as a text-to-speech startup called DesiVocal, but the founders shifted focus after finding that building speech models independently was expensive. The company moved toward developing enterprise voice AI agents instead.

Indian fintech company Cred became Ringg’s first customer, and the startup has since worked with companies including Flipkart, Practo, Groww and Policybazaar.

The company initially focused on high-volume use cases such as outbound calls, lead qualification and loan collection. Ringg later moved toward more complex workflows, including healthcare appointment booking, e-commerce cart recovery, fintech onboarding, and know-your-customer processes.

Ringg said its voice agents are used across 1,200 clinics operated by healthcare platform Practo, helping patients schedule appointments and complete follow-up interactions.

Startup Targets Enterprise AI Agent Workflows

Although phone calls still represent more than 70% of Ringg’s business, the company is expanding into other communication channels, including chat and WhatsApp. For some customers, including Shell, Ringg is also automating browser-based support requests.

Ringg co-founder Siddharth Tripathi said the company wants to position its technology as a platform for AI agents that deliver business outcomes, rather than serving only as enterprise voice assistants.

Most of Ringg’s customers are based in India, with additional customers in the Middle East and the United States. The startup plans to work with global capability centres in India rather than directly targeting U.S. companies, using those partnerships to provide automation alongside human support operations.

The company said it develops its own speech recognition and generation models, but currently operates as an orchestration layer that routes tasks across different models depending on customer requirements.

Competition Grows in Voice AI Market

Ringg is competing in a growing voice AI market that includes model providers such as Deepgram, ElevenLabs, and Cartesia, as well as Indian AI companies such as Sarvam and Smallest.ai.

Other startups focused on AI agent orchestration and enterprise automation include Bolna and Blue Machines, while companies such as Gnani and Arrowhead focus on specific industries, such as finance.

Peak XV principal Rishen Kapoor said Ringg’s technical background helps the company handle more complex enterprise workflows, including merchant onboarding and customer support operations.

Ringg currently has 40 employees and has hired more than 15 people in the last three months. The company is recruiting engineers who combine technical expertise with product skills, as well as researchers focused on reducing the cost of running AI models.
