Belgian Startup Any Targets Car-Like Utility With Modular Electric Motorcycle

Belgian startup Any is betting that more people will choose electric two-wheelers if they can handle everyday tasks usually reserved for cars. The company’s first vehicle, the LUV1, is designed as a modular electric motorcycle with the storage capacity of a cargo bike.

The company says the LUV1 was created on the idea that two-wheelers need to be “designed for real life,” meaning riders should be able to carry groceries, luggage, work equipment, and other daily items without sacrificing speed or range.

The electric motorcycle can store up to 120 litres of cargo, a feature Any says addresses one of the biggest limitations of traditional motorcycles and scooters. The company explained that the storage capacity was designed around practical needs such as shopping trips, weekend travel, and daily commuting.

The LUV1 uses a modular design that allows customers to configure the vehicle for different uses. Riders can choose between an open frame or versions with different panels for carrying pets, professional equipment, or outdoor gear. Additional options include a windshield, racks, rain protection, and other accessories.

The vehicle was developed under the creative direction of Lowie Vermeersch, the former design director at Pininfarina and founder of Granstudio. The LUV1 prototype gained attention after its unveiling at Milan Design Week, where Any presented its vision for a new category of “life utility vehicles.”

Starting at €7,000, the LUV1 is positioned between premium electric cargo bikes and more powerful motorcycles. Any says the vehicle is expected to require only an A1 motorcycle license in many markets, making it accessible to a wider group of riders.

The company has received more than 600 reservations following its preorder launch. Reservations require a refundable €49 fee that is credited toward the final purchase price under Any’s reservation terms.

Any has raised €2.75 million and is now seeking €10 million or more in a Series A round to support production. The company has also recruited automotive industry talent, including engineering leadership with experience at Aprilia, Ferrari, and Piaggio Group.

The LUV1 features two removable batteries and offers a range of up to 87 miles per charge. Any believes its cargo-focused approach can help it compete in the growing electric two-wheeler market, where companies are increasingly developing alternatives for urban transportation.

The startup is also exploring broader applications beyond personal mobility. Any says it has received interest from last-mile delivery companies and plans to develop a wider portfolio of vehicles, potentially including a three-wheeler model.

Before expanding its product lineup, Any must increase production capacity ahead of the first customer deliveries. The company is seeking additional funding to help bring the LUV1 into larger-scale manufacturing.

Reports on Any’s funding plans indicate that the startup is preparing for a larger investment round as it moves toward production.
