Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold Gets Brighter Displays and a Stronger, Lighter Build

Google has unveiled the Pixel 11 Pro Fold with a stronger hinge, brighter displays and a lighter design, while keeping the overall look of its foldable smartphone largely familiar.

The new foldable will cost $1,899 and will be available in Olive and Obsidian. Google says the device is both stronger and lighter than its predecessor.

Google developed a new hinge for the Pixel 11 Pro Fold that it says improves the device's durability. The outer screen now uses a Super Actua display capable of reaching a peak brightness of 3,600 nits.

Both the inner and outer displays are 20% brighter than those on the previous-generation model, according to Google.

The phone is also about 1 millimetre thinner and roughly 20 grams lighter. That reduction comes alongside a smaller battery, with Google moving from the previous model’s 5,015 mAh capacity to 4,750 mAh.

Wireless charging has also been upgraded, with the Pixel 11 Pro Fold supporting up to 25W charging.

The new foldable features an updated 48-megapixel camera sensor designed to capture more light and improve detail across different lighting conditions.

Google has also equipped the phone with its new Tensor G6 chip and an updated image processor. Those changes allow the Pixel 11 Pro Fold to offer up to 30x digital zoom, compared with 20x on its predecessor.

Rather than substantially redesigning its foldable, Google is focusing this generation on improvements to durability, display brightness, portability, charging and photography. The Pixel 11 Pro Fold will launch at $1,899 in its two announced colour options.
