Nvidia has taken a minority stake in Cloverleaf Infrastructure as the chipmaker expands its involvement in developing the power and sites needed for U.S. AI data centres.

Under the strategic partnership announced Friday, Nvidia will work with Cloverleaf on infrastructure for large-scale AI facilities. The companies did not disclose financial terms.

Nvidia expands its AI infrastructure push

Cloverleaf works with utilities, energy providers and investors to secure power and develop data centre sites. Nvidia’s investment will support additional projects, while the companies plan to use Nvidia’s DSX platform to coordinate power, cooling, computing and facility design.

Reuters reported that Nvidia acquired a minority stake. The Wall Street Journal previously reported that the investment could total several hundred million dollars.

Cloverleaf was founded in 2024 and secured more than $300 million in capital commitments from NGP Energy Capital and Sandbrook Capital.

The deal gives Nvidia a deeper role in the infrastructure required to support AI computing, extending its involvement beyond supplying GPUs and systems to the development of power-ready data centre sites.
