Tesla Secures $30 Billion Credit Facilities to Support Cybercab, Optimus and Semi Expansion
Tesla has secured $30 billion in new credit facilities as it prepares to scale Cybercab, Optimus robot and Tesla Semi manufacturing operations.
Tesla has secured $30 billion in new credit facilities to support its efforts to scale upcoming products, including the Cybercab robotaxi, Optimus humanoid robot, and Tesla Semi.
The financing includes a $20 billion delayed-draw term loan facility from Citibank, an $8 billion revolving credit facility from Wells Fargo, and a separate $2 billion revolving credit facility.
Tesla Expands Financing Capacity
In a regulatory filing, Tesla said it does not plan to use these credit facilities in 2026. The company has projected at least $25 billion in capital expenditures for the year.
Tesla ended the second quarter with about $9 billion in debt and more than $40 billion in cash and investments, providing additional financial flexibility for future expansion.
New Manufacturing Plans
The credit facilities come as Tesla develops new manufacturing infrastructure for its Cybercab, Optimus, and Semi programs.
The company has taken a dedicated factory approach for the Semi and Optimus robot, while Cybercab is part of Tesla’s broader autonomous transportation strategy.
The new financing gives Tesla additional capacity as it continues investing in future production operations.
