Pinterest has introduced Beauty Guides, a new AI-powered feature that turns hair and nail inspiration from Pins into practical salon plans. The tool is designed to help users understand the terminology, timing, cost, and upkeep involved in recreating a particular look.

Beauty Guides uses Pinterest Intelligence, the company’s visual understanding and generative AI technology, to analyse supported Pins and translate them into terms commonly used by stylists and nail technicians. That can include phrases such as balayage, root melt or almond nails.

Beauty Guides explain what to ask for

Users can access the feature by tapping a “Get the Guide” option on supported Pins. Pinterest then provides details on what to request at a salon, how long the process may take, an estimated price range, and the maintenance required afterwards.

The guidance can also cover follow-up needs such as trims, toning or touch-ups. This gives users more information before they book an appointment, especially for treatments that can take significant time or cost.

Initial support covers hair and nail Pins

At launch, Beauty Guides supports Pins related to hairstyles, hair colour, nail shape and nail finish. Pinterest is building the feature around existing platform behaviour, where users save visual references and later bring those images to stylists or nail artists.

The addition gives Pinterest a practical way to apply AI to saved inspiration, turning visual references into information users can take into a real-world appointment.
