Anthropic raises another $30B in Series G, with a new value of $380B

Anthropic has completed a massive $30 billion Series G financing round, the company confirmed on Thursday. The new funding values the AI startup at $380 billion, marking a sharp rise from its prior Series F valuation of $183 billion.

Portions of the financing details were reported by Bloomberg earlier in the week.

The round was led by Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund GIC and investment management firm Coatue. Several other prominent investment groups participated as co-leads, including D. E. Shaw Ventures, Founders Fund (founded by Peter Thiel), and Abu Dhabi-based MGX. Additional backers named in the round include Accel, General Catalyst, Jane Street, and the Qatar Investment Authority, among others.

The new capital injection arrives as Anthropic continues to compete aggressively for enterprise clients and broader market influence against its primary rival, OpenAI. OpenAI has recently disclosed plans to pursue up to $100 billion in additional financing, which could raise its valuation to approximately $830 billion if completed.

“Whether it is entrepreneurs, startups, or the world’s largest enterprises, the message from our customers is the same: Claude is increasingly becoming more critical to how businesses work,” said Krishna Rao, Anthropic’s chief financial officer, in a statement announcing the round. “This fundraising reflects the incredible demand we are seeing from these customers, and we will use this investment to continue building the enterprise-grade products and models they have come to depend on.”

With the Series G round finalised, Anthropic strengthens its financial position as it accelerates the development of its AI models and expands its enterprise offerings amid intensifying competition across the generative AI landscape.
