Bessemer Venture Partners has raised $5.75 billion across two new funds to expand investments in artificial intelligence companies and the wider AI ecosystem.
The funds include $1.75 billion for seed and early-stage startups and $4 billion for growth-stage companies. Bessemer announced the new funds as part of its latest investment strategy.
Bessemer Expands AI Focus
Bessemer has been known for backing enterprise software companies during the SaaS era, with investments including Box, DocuSign, and Gainsight.
Since 2022, the firm says it has invested in more than 260 AI-native companies across computing infrastructure, foundation models, developer tools, applications, and AI agents.
AI Drives New Venture Capital Investments
Bessemer has backed AI companies including Anthropic, Cognition, Legora, Perplexity, Ramp, Shopify, and Waymo. The firm says it has invested billions of dollars into AI-related startups. Bessemer tracks technology companies through its cloud and software research platform.
Bessemer Partner Byron Deeter said AI-native companies are scaling faster than previous technology categories the firm supported. He also noted that companies staying private longer has increased the need for larger investment funds.
Bloomberg reported on Bessemer’s latest fundraising and expansion plans.
The new capital will support investments across different stages of AI development, from early startups building new technologies to established companies expanding their operations.
