Eight Sleep Launches Pod 6 With Smaller Sizes and Faster Temperature Control

Sleep technology company Eight Sleep has launched Pod 6, a new version of its smart sleep system designed with smaller hardware, solo sizing options, and faster temperature adjustments.

The company says Pod 6 can adjust temperatures on each side of the bed 20% faster than the previous generation. Eight Sleep’s latest sleep technology is designed to provide personalised temperature control during Sleep.

New Sizes and Improved Sensor Technology

Pod 6 has a 50% smaller footprint than earlier versions, so it fits more bed frames. The system is available in solo sizes for individual users and standard sizes for larger beds.

Eight Sleep says the device includes nine times as many sensors as previous models, allowing it to detect more detailed temperature preferences for each sleeper. The company also says the system can ignore data from pets or children sharing the bed.

Pricing and Availability

Pod 6 is available in more than 37 countries, starting at $1,999 for solo sizes and $2,699 for standard sizes. Solo versions are designed for twin beds and one side of queen, king, and California king beds, while standard versions support queen, king, and California king sizes.

The system remains compatible with existing Eight Sleep accessories, including the Pod Cover, blankets, pillow covers, and bases.

Eight Sleep Expands Health Technology Plans

Beyond consumer sleep products, Eight Sleep is seeking U.S. Food and Drug Administration approval to transition its Pod technology into a regulated medical device focused on sleep apnea.

The company recently raised $50 million from Tether at a reported $1.5 billion valuation and has expanded into markets including China, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Singapore.

Global Expansion and AI Hardware Challenges

Eight Sleep CEO Matteo Franceschetti said international markets now contribute more than 30% of the company’s revenue. The company plans further expansion into Asia and Latin America.

The company is also monitoring supply chain pressure in the electronics industry as demand for computing components increases. Franceschetti said Eight Sleep is adjusting its supply chain as its devices become more intelligent and require additional computing capabilities.

Eight Sleep has also continued developing sleep-health technology, including features aimed at helping users understand sleep-related issues such as snoring. The company provides information and technology solutions to improve sleep experiences.
