Meta rolls out new program to boost entrepreneurship and expand AI adoption

Meta is rolling out a new company-wide initiative called Meta Small Business, aimed at strengthening entrepreneurship and encouraging broader adoption of artificial intelligence, according to a report published Wednesday.

In an internal memo, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg highlighted that small businesses have long played a central role in the company’s overall strategy. He noted that tens of millions of entrepreneurs already rely on Meta’s platforms to grow their ventures and connect with customers. The company now intends to deepen its involvement in this area.

Zuckerberg emphasised that advancements in AI are making it increasingly accessible for individuals to start and scale businesses. He stated that the company wants to develop tools and services that make it easier for people to launch new ventures, positioning this effort as a key part of ensuring that the benefits of emerging technologies are widely shared.

He also pointed out that enabling more people to participate in opportunities created by advanced AI systems is a key priority for the company moving forward. According to reports, the Meta Small Business initiative will be led by Dina Powell McCormick, Meta’s President and Vice Chairman, and Naomi Gleit. The leadership team is expected to guide the program’s direction and oversee its implementation across the company.

As part of the rollout, Zuckerberg has encouraged employees across departments — including product managers, designers, engineers, and others — to express interest in contributing to the initiative. This internal call reflects Meta’s intention to mobilise talent from across the organisation to support the program’s goals.

With this move, Meta is positioning itself to play a more active role in helping entrepreneurs leverage AI tools while also expanding its influence in the small-business ecosystem.
