ElevenLabs has quietly introduced a new iOS application called ElevenMusic, designed to let users create music using artificial intelligence and explore tracks generated by others. The move places the company in more direct competition with platforms like Suno and Udio.

The app appeared on the App Store in recent weeks and was officially released on April 1, signalling ElevenLabs' broader ambition to expand beyond voice technology. The company appears to be positioning itself for a future in which AI audio tools become more commoditised by building a broader ecosystem that includes music and other creative outputs.

ElevenMusic is currently available as a free app, allowing users to generate up to seven songs per day through natural language prompts. Users can customise various elements of their creations, including the track's duration, whether it includes lyrics, and its writing style.

In addition to creating original music, users can browse tracks produced by others and remix them using text prompts. These remixes count toward the daily generation limit. The app also includes features commonly seen in streaming services, such as curated stations, pre-built albums, and daily mixes categorised by mood—including Focus, Energy, Relax, Late Night, Cosmic, and Chill.

Similar to platforms like Spotify and Apple Music, ElevenMusic offers sections for top charts, trending tracks, and new releases, blending music creation with discovery.

The company is also introducing a paid subscription tier. Priced at $9.99 per month or $95.90 annually, the Pro plan allows users to generate up to 500 tracks each month, provides more than 500 GB of storage, and unlocks access to a broader range of styles and moods.

ElevenLabs has been steadily expanding its creative AI offerings over recent months. In August last year, the company launched its first music-generation model, which it described as commercially safe. Earlier this year, it collaborated with established music producers to release an AI-assisted album. It has also rolled out a suite of tools for ad generation, voice-overs, translation, image creation, video production, voice cloning, and sound design. Until now, the company's consumer-facing products primarily included its voice generator and the ElevenReader platform. It also introduced a program that enables authors to earn royalties by converting and distributing their books through ElevenReader.

With ElevenMusic, ElevenLabs appears to be exploring similar incentive structures for music creators. As it continues hiring for roles focused on expanding its consumer reach, the company may introduce royalty systems or other rewards to encourage users to produce and share more content on the platform. The launch reflects ElevenLabs' broader strategy to evolve into a full-spectrum creative AI platform, extending its capabilities well beyond voice into music and multimedia creation.
