FedEx Orders 2,000 Electric Trucks From Harbinger in $300 Million Deal

FedEx is ordering 2,000 electric trucks from EV startup Harbinger in a $300 million deal, its largest bulk order to date.

Harbinger plans to deliver all the trucks by the end of next year. The order follows FedEx’s earlier investment in the startup and a prior purchase agreement that helped support production.

FedEx Expands Electric Truck Fleet

The new deal builds on FedEx’s efforts to add more electric vehicles to its delivery network. Harbinger has already delivered 53 trucks to FedEx from an earlier order linked to its previous funding round.

The agreement, first reported by Bloomberg, is a major milestone for Harbinger, wounded in 2022 by former employees of Anduril, Canoo, and QuantumScape.

Harbinger Expands Beyond Electric Trucks

Harbinger has focused on building electric medium-duty commercial truck chassis, allowing the company to move into production and generate revenue within a few years.

The startup is also exploring other markets, including hybrid emergency vehicles, battery energy storage, autonomous driving technology, and defence applications.

Axios reports have highlighted Harbinger’s defence efforts and the company’s potential IPO plans.

The FedEx order strengthens Harbinger’s position in the commercial EV market as logistics companies continue investing in cleaner transportation solutions.
