Amazon has introduced a new way for Kindle readers to turn pages without touching their e-reader. The Kindle Click is a compact Bluetooth remote priced at $34.99 and designed for hands-free page turning.

The accessory is meant for situations where reaching for the Kindle may be inconvenient, such as reading under the covers, using a treadmill, or keeping the device on a tray table during a flight. Readers can press a button on the remote instead of tapping the Kindle screen.

Amazon says Kindle Click works with its new Kindle lineup as well as Kindle models released in 2024 and later.

Amazon enters the wireless page-turner market.

Kindle owners have long relied on third-party page-turning accessories, many of which use clip-on mechanisms that physically interact with the display. Kindle Click instead connects directly through Bluetooth.

Amazon is not the first major e-reader company to offer an official wireless remote. Rakuten Kobo previously introduced the Kobo Remote for $29.99, while the BOOX Tappy offers wireless page turning for compatible BOOX ePaper devices at the same price.

At $34.99, Kindle Click costs slightly more than those alternatives, but Amazon is positioning it as an official accessory built specifically for recent Kindle devices.

New accessories accompany redesigned Kindles

The remote arrives alongside a redesigned Kindle lineup featuring slimmer hardware, lighter designs and displays that Amazon says can turn pages up to 30% faster than the previous generation.

Amazon also introduced additional Kindle accessories, including a magnetic cover with physical page-turn buttons and a charging dock stand for the Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition and Colorsoft Signature Edition.

Kindle Click is a relatively simple addition, but it addresses a practical issue for readers who want to keep their hands away from the device while reading. It also gives Amazon a first-party alternative to the wireless and clip-on page-turners Kindle owners have previously had to buy elsewhere.
